Introduction

Nature Appreciation Report

This report is designed to help you learn more about your own, inner nature; to appreciate nature around you; and to know what you can do to protect the environment in the best way possible, given your uniqueness as an individual.

In this report, your planets in the signs indicate your inner nature and the natural species and phenomena with which you, as an individual, have an affinity. Your planets in the houses indicate the activities which you would enjoy, pertaining to nature. Your planetary aspects indicate the environmental causes where you would have a particular talent, and where you could express yourself in a positive way towards helping to preserve nature.

Chapter 1: The Sun

Sun in Leo:

The animal traditionally corresponding to the sign of "Leo" is the lion, and its "planet" is the sun. Lions do react to the daylight by roaring, sometimes several at a time. They are, therefore, very energetic. However, they are not malicious because they catch only as much as they need to eat. As a Leo person, you are energetic, generous, and powerful, but never unkind.

A flower which has the qualities of your sign is the sunflower. It thrives in the sun, to produce large, cheerful, generous flowers despite not needing to use very much soil nor water. The flowers are a deep, yellow color resembling the sun or the color gold or the color of a lion.

Like the sun, you attract attention and give much warmth in return. Leo rules the heart, a very central important part of the body, and the heart represents life, self-expression, and kindness, and you certainly have an abundance of these.

Sun in the 12th House

You would enjoy life in a quiet, spiritual retreat near water, where the participants could meditate, do yoga, go on quiet nature walks, paint, or do nature photography. As you feel an affinity with fish, you might enjoy activities in the water such as swimming or canoeing. You have an ability to be one with nature's creatures, and even to communicate with them on a psychic level. You might want to write about your experiences, and show others a level of understanding of the emotions of nature's creatures which they have overlooked before.

Sun Square Mars:

You have great resources of energy and courage, and could even fight forest fires. You would also have the potential for the dynamic leadership needed to fight other threats to the life of nature's creatures. For example, you could initiate a tree-planting project, because trees are very important in sustaining life on the planet. Your strong energy needs a constructive outlet, and even if you at times experience frustration, keep physically active and find a constructive outlet, where your positive approach can shine.

Sun Sextile Jupiter:

You have good opportunities to gain recognition for publishing articles or books about nature and the outdoors, especially for children. Do not take these opportunities for granted because this work is genuinely needed, and you would find great fulfilment and happiness in doing it. You have an unusual talent for creatively bringing outdoor, wilderness activities out into the limelight, so that people can relate to nature and value it, by identifying with it. You may find that television or films are a useful way of doing this; or perhaps you could lead expeditions in person yourself.

Sun Trine Saturn:

You may live in a place where there are large, old trees, and they would provide you with an instant reminder that you can live a long life yourself. You see opportunities to help preserve the planet, and you would find it very fulfilling to pursue them. You could become recognized for your work with Arctic species. You probably like to have cats, and you would be good at looking after them. You would have a talent for cold-climate gardening, because you see the most efficient ways to use the available light.

Chapter 2: The Moon

Moon in Virgo:

You are neat and clean and particular about the food you eat. You are good at nurturing yourself and keeping healthy. You are particular about detail and a good housekeeper. You are hardworking, like a "busy bee". When worker bees make honey, they first partially digest the nectar which has been gathering from flowers. Then they spread it out in the hive, where it becomes partially dried, so that it becomes honey. They eat some of it, and store the rest in honeycomb, so they work very hard in their hives to have the best quality food. People could be healthier, if they learned good habits from the bees - and from those with their moon in Virgo.

Moon in the 1st House

You are good at looking after animals. You give them a good start, and then you are able to let go of them and give them their independence. You know that they need plenty of exercise and activity, besides food, and you are willing to help them with this, or do it with them. You would be good at building places for animals to visit or live, such as kennels, bird houses, bird feeders, or even a backyard pond.

Moon Conjunct Mercury:

You are good at speaking up for the protection of wildlife habitat. You would speak nurturingly to small pets, and communicate caring to them. You understand what good caretakers mother birds are when they have to make many trips back and forth to their nest to feed their young.

Moon Trine Mars:

You have a talent for understanding the moods of animals. You know that they have both emotional needs and a need for exercise. You would also be good at home building projects, such as an outdoor patio or rockery for plants or a backyard pond. You would do well to keep active and use these much-needed talents, and you would feel all the better for it.

Moon Square Saturn:

You may at times feel depressed about the state of the environment, but through hard work and perseverence, you can do something of lasting value about it. You may at some point have to deal with a threat to the security of your home, such as that caused by adverse weather. However, you can minimize this risk by making sure that you have a solidly built home in a safe location. You could also benefit by resolving any emotions about instability left over from your childhood, because then you would unconsciously attract more stable circumstances into your life.

Chapter 3: Mercury

Mercury in Virgo:

You excel in very precise, detailed work. You like to have a clean orderly environment. You are very practical and analytical.

If you have ever watched a bee in a flower garden, it goes to each and every flower to get nectar; it does not overlook one. The same kind of detailed work can be found in the web of the orb-weaver spider. Their web has many spokes going out from the center, and many circles joining all of the spokes, like a very intricate solar system or astrological chart wheel. It can make one of these detailed webs in less than a day, as the webs have the practical purpose of catching insects for their food.

Mercury in the 12th House

You have the ability to learn psychically from nature's creatures, and interpret their many messages. You can move quietly and get close to the wild birds and animals without frightening them, because you can communicate reassurance to them on a subtle level. Birds and animals come to you, because they can feel that you are really listening to them and asking them what they need and what they have to say. You would be very good at writing songs about nature.

Mercury Sextile Neptune:

You left-brain and right-brain work well together, and you could teach others how to protect the cleanliness of the environment from the point of view of being able to appreciate its beauty, rather than just a set of rules for them to obey. You would enjoy going out in nature to meditate or to take photographs or paint. You would have the ability to communicate psychically with small creatures, and to empathize with them. You would be interested in the study of fish and ocean plants.

Mercury Conjunct Pluto:

You would be a good researcher into the effects of garbage and sewage on the environment, because your penetrating mind would uncover the real facts. You could become an expert on the causes of flooding, and what can be done about it. You could study information about sustainable energy sources, and then teach others.

Chapter 4: Venus

Venus in Leo:

As Venus has to do with love and Leo is traditionally the sign of the Lion, you can be expected to be a real cat-lover. You are warm-hearted, dramatic, and affectionate, and a cat would be lucky to have you as his or her human, because you would indulge the cat's desire to be in the spotlight.

You are artistic, especially with painting or sculpture, and your art would be very striking and colorful. You would be likely to paint sunsets or trees in their autumn colors, or even to combine the two in one painting.

Venus in the 11th House

You are very good at working in a group, because of your pleasant personality, intelligent expression of ideas, and tolerance for other points of view. You could join an environmental group and work together with others, for example to promote Earth Day. You are interested in saving bird habitat and you like the beauty of birds and their grace in flight. You might like gardening for self-sufficiency, and planting according to astrology. You may have talent for building inventions, such as a wind generator.

Venus Square Jupiter:

If you struggle and use your willpower, you could succeed in getting your nature art published, or in running a business of selling others' art. You are interested in finding solutions to the problem of having developments taking over the available farmland and green spaces. You realize that people need to stop having an over-indulgent lifestyle, because of the effect of many people doing this on the environment. You could initiate meditations on nature and the preservation of it, and even get a large group to meditate on the preservation of the planet.

Venus Square Neptune:

If you used your willpower, you could become a very good nature photographer. You could go out on nature hikes and take pictures of water, scenery, animals beside a pond, or trees beside a lake. You could also develop your ability as a nature artist. You are concerned about the preservation of the lakes and waterways, and you could do work to ensure this.

Chapter 5: Mars

Mars in Taurus:

You are physically very strong. You understand the power of the material plane in getting ahead, and you exert much physical energy to acquire money, a nice house, and other possessions. You have the patience and skill to build things, and you are likely a good craftsperson particularly with large, solid sculptures and objects which will last.

In the animal world, the African elephant is the largest of land animals, and it can even carry a tree in its trunk. Its massive legs are able to carry the weight of the animal itself. Elephants live a long time, and their roots even go back to prehistoric times.

Mars in the 9th House

You would have the initiative to travel to other countries to learn about different natural species and habitats. You would enjoy hiking, cross-county skiing, horseback riding, or wilderness exploration. You would have the energy and enthusiasm to initiate and help build a nature trail from, say, an abandoned railroad. You would be willing to fight for an environmental cause based on higher principles of religion or philosophy.

Mars Square Uranus:

At first, you would be frustrated with people who use motor boats, jet-skis or noisy airplanes, because you can see how they are disturbing the natural habitat. However, you will be happier when you take constructive action to stop this problem, and you have the willpower , intellectual ability, and quickness to be successful. You realize that you have to take risks, but it is for a good cause, and you are quite able to land on your feet.

Chapter 6: Jupiter

Jupiter in Libra:

You are popular because you are considerate of others and willing to create harmony. Partnerships are important to you, and you go to generous efforts to maintain a strong marriage. You are also good at raising funds and promoting charitable causes, through your sociability and goodwill.

In nature, there is a phenomenon called "symbiosis", in which two different types of organisms live close together for the mutual benefit of each. For example, in a forest, there are certain types of fungi which live at the base of evergreen trees and which break down the soil for the tree roots to be able to absorb. In return, the tree provides the fungi with usable food, because they cannot photosynthesize on their own.

Jupiter in the 2nd House

Because you have business ability for acquiring property, you could obtain land and preserve it as wildlife habitat. You would be successful in growing organic food and selling it as a business and you could share your abundant harvest with others. You could succeed in an eco-tourist business in which you could teach visitors from faraway places about the value of the earth and the life it supports.

Jupiter Conjunct Neptune:

You could publish articles on marine biology and gain support for the cause of saving the fish habitat. You could teach people to respect the earth from a spiritual point of view, and not to contaminate it with pesticides and other chemicals. You have a spiritual link with small creatures, and you are able to see God in nature. You could teach others how to do yogic meditations.

Jupiter Sextile Pluto:

You have great, positive faith, and you would be able to inspire large numbers of people to apply their religious or spiritual beliefs towards transforming the planet for the better. You could lead others in meditations and prayers for a cleaner, more nurturing environment. You could also teach others to see the divine in nature, and to believe that, since nature is God's creation, it should be treated with reverence and respect.

Chapter 7: Saturn

Saturn in Sagittarius:

You are someone who will adhere strictly to your faith, and you can be counted upon to be honest and truthful. Your upbringing had a good balance of happiness and discipline, so that you neither get carried away with self-indulgence nor discouraged by the presence of rules.

When the birds migrate, they know that they are either heading to their nesting ground or back to a place with abundant food for the winter. They have something positive to look forward to, but they must still endure the long flight and not digress from their path.

Saturn in the 4th House

You would be practical and constructive about saving small creatures and their habitat. If you have a bird-feeder, you would be responsible about not feeding the birds at the time of year when they should be learning that they have to fly south for the winter. You would be good at preserving local heritage and nature trails.

Chapter 8: Uranus

Uranus in Leo:

You tend to go along with a group, but at the same time, to maintain a very strong sense of self. You are very creative, romantic and original, as is your generation. Your efforts in art, theater, and entertainment are likely to be innovative and inspired by a group consciousness.

If you have gone for nature walks in the spring, you may have noticed that, when the weather suddenly gets hot, various species are mating, and that pairs of different kinds of birds choose the same small area of the forest to mate at the same time, in close proximity to one another.

Uranus in the 12th House

You like to make friends with the creatures in the wild, and you understand the connections of the different parts of creation and of our part in it. You might enjoy being in a group meditation retreat, in which the focus would be on what each species of bird or animal is subtly trying to teach us. You would be interested in the cause of preserving the wetlands, lakes, and fish.

Chapter 9: Neptune

Neptune in Scorpio:

You were born at a time when exploration of the deep oceans were going on to learn about the creatures living there, and new knowledge about the hidden mysteries of nature unfolded. There was a growing concern about the effects of oil spills on marine life, and about chemical pollution of the environment as whole.

Neptune in the 3rd House

You would enjoy going out to a quiet lake, observing the different species and then reading about them. You might have an interest in the secret teachings of animals and birds; that is what they communicate to those who really listen. You could then pass on this knowledge to others who would appreciate it. You might mediate on nature in the city, and then work to ensure the preservation of green space. You would teach others to value it, based in your own experiences.

Neptune Sextile Pluto:

You live at a time when people have profound compassion for nature, and they work very hard to protect it. There is likely to be nature art which has a strong spiritual message. There would be efforts to restore the aquatic environment, for fish and other marine species.

Chapter 10: Pluto

Pluto in Virgo:

You were born at a time when there was a rebirth in interest in maintaining a natural, healthy lifestyle. Health food stores appeared and grew; exercise and yoga classes became popular, and holistic therapies emerged. There was a strong rejection of the corporate influence on the quality of the air, the use of chemicals in food, over-packaging, and pollution of the land and waters. There was a rebellion against oppressive employment practices and the introduction of humanistic and cooperative work environments.

Pluto in the 12th House

You would be concerned about the effects of oil spills and other chemical pollution of the waterways, and you would have the determination to something about it. You would take excellent nature photographs, which would appeal to people's emotions. You would fight hard to save the habitat for fish. You could use deep meditation to become receptive to what the creatures of nature need, and then you could visualize the solutions and work to implement them.
